Ayodhya Rape Case: Bulldozer Action on Accused SP Leader’s Bakery
In a significant development in the Ayodhya rape case, the Ayodhya district administration on Saturday demolished a bakery owned by Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Moeed Khan, who is the prime suspect in the gang rape of a minor girl. Officials revealed that the bakery was constructed illegally on land seized from a pond.

SDM Ashok Kumar confirmed the actions taken, stating, “The bakery was sealed for being illegal, and demolition procedures have begun.” Following the bakery’s demolition, the administration also razed the illegally constructed boundary wall around the pond, emphasizing the enforcement of property laws.

Moeed Khan, along with his domestic worker, is charged with the rape and extortion of a 12-year-old girl employed at his residence. The accusations include a sustained period of assault spanning over two months. Khan was apprehended last Thursday, and a lawsuit has been filed against him for intimidating the victim’s family to compromise the case. Another lawsuit followed, focusing on his threats to the victim’s family.

The case has sparked significant political reactions. Mayawati, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, supported the stringent measures taken by the state government against the accused. She criticized SP leader Akhilesh Yadav’s call for a “DNA test” for the accused, questioning the implications of such a statement. Mayawati stated, “The strict action being taken by the UP government against the accused in the Ayodhya gangrape case is justified, but what should be understood by SP saying that the DNA test of the accused should be done.”
