Most of the countries believe that there could be a third world war. Australia is at the top among those who believe in this, whereas the Japanese, who faced nuclear attack in the Second World War, are avoiding it. If a world war breaks out, it will cause devastation all over the world, but some countries are in the high risk category. Getting stuck here during war can bring huge trouble.
The Russia-Ukraine war is going to last a year. Neither Russia is leaving any stone unturned in wreaking havoc, nor is Ukraine ready to accept defeat. Russian President Vladimir Putin is continuously coming up with new strategies, in which there is talk of using destructive missiles like Satan-2. Here Ukraine is also gathering war equipment by taking help from big countries of the world. Amidst all this the fear of the third world war started looming. Although World War wreaks havoc all over the world, there are some countries which will be its soft targets. That means these countries will be in greatest danger.
Which countries believe there will be war
In December 2022, international firm Ipsos conducted a survey, in which most of the people from 34 countries believed that a third world war could happen soon. Australia was at the top in this, where about 81 percent people said yes to the possibility of war. Whereas Japan was at the bottom in this list with 51 percent. One reason for this could also be that during the Second World War, this country had to face a nuclear attack. So it is possible that he is afraid even to imagine it. India was also a part of the survey, in which about 79 percent people expressed fear of war.
This is how the first war started
Although no one took responsibility for the war that lasted for the next four and a half years from July 1914, the reason for this is considered to be the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, the heir to the Austria-Hungary Empire. Ferdinand was on a tour of Bosnia in the same year, where he was assassinated. The blame was placed on the Serbian government. Within a month, Austria started war against him.
There were approximately one crore deaths
Gradually other countries also started joining and the war between the two countries turned into a world war. The First World War ended with the surrender of Germany in November 1918. It is believed that about one crore people died in this war. However, many countries and human rights organizations say this figure is much higher. After the war, starvation and an epidemic called Spanish Flu also spread, which took many lives.
The second world war was at the root of the first war
The way all the big countries had forced Germany and imposed many restrictions on it, Germany decided that it would not forget it. At that time Adolf Hitler was emerging as the leader of the Nazi Party. In the year 1933, he became the military ruler of the country, after which Austria also went to his side. In March 1939, Hitler attacked Czechoslovakia and captured it and through there attacked Poland. The second world war started from here.
During this period the country was divided into two parts
On one side were big countries like America, France, Britain and the Soviet Union. On the other hand, countries like Germany, Japan and Italy. Hitler’s army started attacking rapidly. Eventually all the countries together started bombing this country. When Germany’s defeat was certain, Hitler committed suicide, with which Germany could remain silent. After America’s nuclear attack, Japan also laid down its arms. In this way the Second World War ended in September 1945.
These countries are considered high risk
If war breaks out, no country will be completely safe, but there are many countries which may be in greatest danger. Venezuela’s name is at the top among these high risk countries. This South American country is already embroiled in poverty and civil war. The political situation here has been unstable for a long time. In such a situation, if there is a chance of war, then it is possible that this country may stand in favor of someone, or against someone, for economic or political gain. In view of this fear, the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office kept telling its people to go here or even to its border with caution.
Different types of dangers in African countries
Many African countries are considered high risk, such as Sudan, Somalia, Nigeria and Burkina Faso. The direct reason for this is not that there is a fear of direct involvement of these countries in the war, but the political situation here makes them sensitive even in ordinary days. In such a situation, being here during the war will also create other emergency situations. Like there will be shortage of medical facilities here. If you want to go somewhere else, you may face connectivity problems. Since these countries do not have much power on the global platform, they will remain soft targets.
North Korea keeps preparing
North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is constantly at loggerheads with America on one issue or the other. Even missile tests have taken place several times on the beach there. Kim also has bad relations with his neighboring country South Korea. In such a situation, it is possible that if a third war breaks out, this country may become a part of it. Or start from here. Under these circumstances, living in North Korea is not right under any circumstances.
Then where would it be safer to live?
The Global Peace Index study conducted in the year 2021 also talks about this. According to its ranking, Iceland is the country which probably has the least impact of the Third World War. Located in the Atlantic Ocean, away from the north of Europe, this country is geographically safe. It cannot be reached easily, so there is no fear of bloodshed anytime soon. Anyway, this country remains away from global political turmoil. So there is less fear of someone being aggressive on it.

Due to its geographical location, New Zealand is also in the category of safe countries. It is far from both Russia and America. These are the two countries which are most afraid of getting into trouble with each other. In such a situation, New Zealand can easily stay away from the heat of war. Canada’s support may also be due to its geographical isolation. Although this country is America’s neighbor, its own image is that of a peace-loving country.
